This team is not playing well. Tampa, Boston or the Preds wold kick the poop out of them in a 7 game series. Columbus probably would at this point as well.
Yeah I know that, but that’s still an indication that the coaching staff views him as not close. If he was on the cusp of being called up he wouldn’t have been sent to the press box to “see the game from a different angle”. Whether wrong or right, he’s just not gonna get a shot again this season unless major injuries happen. - Victoro311
It may indicate they don’t view him as close, but the fact they are putting so much effort into shaping him is a good sign of how they view his potential. They wouldn’t be focusing so hard on just him if they didn’t highly regard him.
IMO it just becomes a matter of when/if they reach the point they’re trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.
What do you think about swapping Horn and Kessel around? - Rinosaur
I think they have to find linemates for Sid. Geno and the swedes have been great but Geno, quite frankly has been great with any wingers.
I think we can pencil in Guentzel on the first line. Assuming Sprong wont be recalled, I'd honestly just stick Horny and Guentz with Sid. Otherwise, we could go crazy and try Sheahan on the first line wing. There's not many options if Sullivan is insistent on Brassard and Kessel on the 3rd line.
Meh. A few flashes I suppose, but waiting for something to gel with him and Kessel. Not saying they won't or anything. Just still seeing a lot of passes in each others feet and getting buried in the D zone at times.
There's enough talent there..I just have high expectations.

The last time I remember Sid's line looking routinely dangerous was with ZAR. Granted it was a very small sample. I thought Sprong did a bunch too, but that ship has seemingly sailed.

Horn just never seems to stick with Sid. I like Kessel with Brass, but I think Kessel is more dangerous with Malkin...obviously.
Keeping Kessel on the 3rd certainly creates a wealth of depth, but im curious to see Horn with Brass. I for some reason just think they’d mesh better.

They've been trying to find linemates for Sid in 2004.
